9. 6. 2017 | Marek Kratochvíl
Hong Kong built up a two-goal lead in the second period with one shorthanded goal and one on the power play. Then Andrew Graham scored a third one with 10 minutes to go and the Brits just couldn‘t get back into it. Matthew Lui managed to pull off some great saves and shut the door until the end to win first gold medal for Team Hong Kong in their fifth appearance.

Reactions

Lokki Kwan (captain of team Hong Kong): They‘re a tough team. They‘re fast. They have a couple of really good guys. Going into the game, we knew we had to cover those guys. We did our job and we held them scoreless. Everybody ran hard and we all chipped in so it was a well deserved team win.

Miroslav Adamec (defenseman of team Great Britain): We went to this match wanting to send a lot of shots to the net which we did not. I think that in some situations we played better than our opponent. But Hong Kong was more efficient, they capitalized on all of their chances. We had a little bit of bad luck as we hit the post twice. If I should sum up the game, I think Hong Kong deserved it. They fought till the end. We played were better for half of the game, but we weren‘t lucky enough and the better team won.
