Haiti defeats GB 4-1, will participate in knockout stage

5. 6. 2017 | Petr Sumbal
Fans of each side supported their clubs very loudly all game, creating very good atmosphere. Haiti scored twice in the first 10 minutes, but the Britons were able to get one back before the first intermission. In the second period, only one goal was scored, as the Haitians doubled their lead to 3-1. They added one more goal in the third period, and they are heading to the playoffs of the A pool.

Reactions

Robert Haddock (head coach, Team Haiti): We started the game really well, but again, we had some penalty problems so we allowed GB to get back into the game. But our penalty killing was very good today. Hopefully, against France, our next opponent, we won´t be in the box, because they have a really strong power play. If we can limit our penalties, I´m sure we can win that game too.

Stuart Wilson (head coach, Team Great Britain): Of course we´re disappointed because we didn´t win this tough game. But now it´s in the past... We have to start thinking about tomorrow and also focus on the future games which come in the next few days. These matches will be extremely important for our overall impression from this tournament.
