Brits get crucial win over Bermuda to place 2nd in Group B1

4. 6. 2017 | Marek Kratochvíl
The last game of Group B1 was set to decide who would join France in the next phase. Team GB needed a win in regulation - any other result would give the ticket to Bermuda. Worthington-White put the Bermudians ahead early in the game, but the Brits made it even after one. Then they added some more goals with power plays and managed to build up a four-goal lead with much help from hat-trick hero Chrissy Morrison. Bermuda couldn´t crawl back and left the 2nd spot for GB.

Reactions

Chrissy Morrison (forward, Team Great Britain): It was a very tough game. Bermuda is one of the best teams in our pool, so it was very tough. I think our power play and special teams in general were the key to winning. The hat-trick feels really good.

Tom Worthington-White (forward, Team Bermuda): We are disappointed right now. I mean, we thought we would do better and hoped we would go to the next level. We lost the game in the second period. They poured it on and had some good energy and also some nice bounces. They capitalized on the few chances that they had and that was the turning point of the game. We are disappointed with our result in the group. We were looking to win the group, we thought we could and we had the team to do it, but we will come back again and battle in the next game.
