USA wins third straight game 7-4 over Italy

6. 6. 2017 | Derek OBrien
Team USA got goals from seven different sources in a 7-4 victory over Italy. The win moves them into second place in Group A2, two points behind the Czech Republic with a game in hand. The Italians, who trailed 7-2 before getting two late goals, are tied at the bottom of the group with Portugal, still searching for their first points.

Reactions

Corey Hirschk (head coach, Team USA): I thought we did a good job of controlling play. We got into our game with getting balls in deep, using our speed, and a shorthanded goal never hurts, especially when it comes early like that. I was happy with the performance. In the end, weve got some things to clean up, but hopefully we can bounce back really quick for Switzerland tomorrow morning.

Michael Iustini (head coach, Team Italy): We played really strong at the beginning, but the Americans showed that they have a great team. With the teams like the USA, you have to stay out of the box, or they will punish you.
