Ball Hockey World Championship - Pardubice » Semi-final Friday is upon us; who’ll earn the chance to fight for gold?

Both the Women’s and Men’s tournaments offer a Czech Republic vs Slovakia semi-final. On the men´s side, there is also Greece and Canada to compete for an A final appearance. On the women´s side, it’s Canada and the USA. The B pool tournament brings together Hong Kong and Great Britain in the final, with the Cayman Islands and Armenia to play for bronze.

The Greeks would like to take it on the next level after eliminating team USA in overtime of quarterfinal game. They are going to play Canada again after losing to them in opening game of the championship tournament in shootouts. Next match-up is Slovakia v Czech Republic. The Czechs managed to turn the game with India around in last minutes of regulation and will take on so far unbeaten current champions.

Women’s tournament will bring together two big rivalries. Canada takes on the USA as number one team after preliminary group vs number four. The Czechs will then try to beat Slovakia with Tomcikova in goal for the second time.

B pool is going to reveal new champions and it will be either Hong Kong or Great Britain. Bronze medal game will see Cayman Islands and Armenia to compete for the second time at this tournament. Caymans won the first game 6-1, so the Armenians have a lot to return.
