2015 runner-up Team USA ready to start the Worlds, Czechs and Slovaks aim for another win

2. 6. 2017 | Marek Kratochvíl
The World Championship in Pardubice began with six games on day one including the first parts for defending champs Slovakia and the Czech Republic as the host country. Both managed to get a win and now want to add some more points to their group table.

Team USA, silver medallist from the last World Championship in Zug, is going to play the first game against Portugal at 11:00 and stands for a favourite in this clash. Italy will start with an encounter against the host nation in the evening. In Pool B, the tournament will begin for Lebanon and Bermuda, as they are set to face Team GB and France.

We’ve already seen the first hat-trick of the tournament and it was in the last game of the opening day schedule. Armenia was 3-0 ahead before Hong Kong made it even inside third period. Ohanessian’s game-winning penalty shot was his third goal of the game.

The fans showed up in big numbers on the Czech game. There were more than 3 000 people on the stands for the first match of the host country against India, so there’s a similar expectation about the late game as well.

All of the games are streamed online or covered with text.
