Canadian women rout Brits 11-0

4. 6. 2017 | Derek OBrien
For the second straight game, the British women did their best against a far more skilled opponent. This time it was Canada, which pumped in three goals in the first, five in the second and three more in the third to win 11-0. Jamie Lee Rattray led the offence with seven points as the Canadians evened their record.

Reactions

Tyrel Spitzer, head coach of Team Canada: After a tough loss yesterday, we wanted to take a couple steps forward, so I made a few adjustments to our game. We’ve got a bunch of new players this year so it was good to see them in game action. We saw them starting to develop chemistry and create offence, and hopefully we can carry that over into the next game. We also wanted to eliminate mistakes when we don’t have the ball. Slovakia capitalized on their chances, so we want to make sure that, as we move through the tournament, we eliminate the chances against.

Becky Kasner, forward, Team Great Britain: It was an excellent game. I´m very proud of all team, they are awesome. All the girls were a bit tired after the previous game against the Czech Republic, and maybe Canadians had been more relaxed.
